We are proud to announce that on March 27, 2026, at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade, the first meeting of the professional association “Transporation Planning Center” was held, which marked an important step towards strengthening and affirming the traffic profession.

The aim of this gathering was to establish a platform for open and constructive professional dialogue on key issues of importance for the development of traffic engineering, as well as improving the position and role of the professional community.

Through active discussion, priority topics were identified that will represent the backbone of the Association’s future activities in the coming period:

• improving the position of traffic engineers and strengthening the traffic profession
• examining the possibilities and adequate places in the existing legislation for a clearer definition of the need for traffic analyses and studies based on European and global practice
• determining the level of detail of traffic analyses in relation to the types and hierarchy of planning and urban documents

It was recognized that there is a need for continuous exchange of knowledge, experiences and open dialogues, as well as for systematic action aimed at improving the profession.

The meeting held represents the first, but significant step in a process that requires long-term commitment, joint work and clearly focused activities towards improving the traffic system and professional practice.
